my first link party … and first feature!

i’m relatively new to this blogging thing, especially when it comes to link parties to showcase my projects.

the software development world i live in involves energy efficiency, selling printers, or selling tickets…but showcasing my own work?  UI, feature requests, bug fixes, selling to fortune 500…i’m very comfortable there.  linky parties…all new to me!
i guess that’s what happens when you’re 39 weeks pregnant, can’t sleep, have a new house in the works, and you need ideas!  you read other folks’ blogs and get inspired….at 3 am…
a link (or linky as they call it in the carfting/DIY blog world) party is where a well-established blogger hosts a “party” where other bloggers can post links to their own projects.  pretty nifty social marketing concept if you ask me…but you didn’t.

so as you’re sweating away in the garage, gut hanging out (well, in my case, anyway), dust mask on, hair in a pony…you think of a few things:
don’t be jealous of my latest look
1.  i hope a neighbor doesn’t see me like this.  (then a few walk by)
2.  where’s my paint brush?  (in your hand)
3.  how do i possibly take a picture while i’ve got gloves on?
so you try to take pix every step along the way, describe in detail how you did what you did, post the pix, then link to a party.
i submitted my first project last week and was notified that i’ll be featured!!  out of 330+ entries, i’ll be one of those featured!
WHAT?!?!  this is my first DIY project…and my first linky party (sounds dirty).  i just only learned about free stuff on Craigslist about a month ago, and lookie here!  Kate from Chic on a Shoestring is featuring my shabby dresser submission from last week!
well then…if this baby doesn’t arrive soon…who knows where i could take this!
